To celebrate Girlguiding UK's Centenary all sections were involved in special events and activities. Some members undertook exiting challenges, designing new badges in the process and raising funds for the organisation. Woolwich District held an exhibition at the Greenwich Heritage Centre in Woolwich displaying guiding artefacts, archive documents and photographs.
The Centenary celebrations started with the launch in September 2009 at Crystal Palace...
followed by GMT at Royal Naval College Grounds, Greenwich, in June 2010
A day of activities for all members of London South East. This was our County's big day, in partnership with the the Naval College.
There were lots of activities on offer and all participants had a wonderful time. The weather was glorious - the sun really was shining on Guiding!

where, joined by 8 other counties, we have re-taken our promise in an evening with a carnival theme. It rounded off a year full of exciting activities and challenges.
On the night Trafalgar Square was packed with rainbows, brownies, guides, rangers and their leaders and everybody enjoyed themselves, despite the cold wind blowing around the square!
