Training Advisor and Programme

The role of Programme and Training Advisor is one that is hard work, but fun - like so many other jobs in Guiding.

The Programme and Training advisor chairs a committee which organizes trainings for guiders in the county.
It's really important that we provide training because all guiders are
required to keep their skills and knowledge up to date.

We are fortunate in this county that we have a group of experienced
trainers that are always willing to train. However, we are always on the
lookout for more, so please contact us if you'd like to know more about
running trainings for adults in LSE!   The county trainers are always
willing to support the P&T committee with ideas for training, which
means that we're able to provide fresh new ideas every term, alongside
mandatory trainings such as First Response.

All Girlguiding UK leaders go through our own Leadership Qualification programme, part of which incorporates a First Aid Course which is then renewed every 3 years.

While working through their Leadership Qualification members are allocated a mentor who will help them with any queries and assist with signing off each section of the programme. We also run training sessions throughout the year on all sections, such as First Aid, Camping and anything else you might want. See below for more information.

Whithin London South East we have a dedicated "Adult Support" Team and their role is:

  • to support leaders by keeping them up-to-date with new programmes and new initiatives by means of training sessions, events and direct communication,
  • to support the Leadership Qualification Co-ordinator and the team in the administration of the Qualification and to provide training.
  • support and provide training opportunities for Qualified Trainers and Prospective Trainers.

Please contact us at  info@girlguidinglondonsoutheast.org.uk  for details of training sessions.
